Re-place (2017)

What is the shape and scale of the natural features that our lives rely on? In an effort to convey such attributes the form of lakes critical to the supply of water and hydro-electrically generated power to Hobart and Glenorchy have their respective areas overlayed onto the built environment. Likewise, an accessible point of reference is generated by placing the same region of suburbia onto the surface of the lakes. Although treating the form of Bradys Lake, Lake Binny and Tungatinah Lagoon in this manner could appear simplistic, a lack of awareness of such ecological connections in combination with other impending environmental issues introduces a cultural relevance to justify the exploration of such representations.
